The Tornado” was met with great success and now stands as the first illustration in a new retelling of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, my current personal work in progress. Inspired by Evan Schwartz’s insightful biography of L. Frank Baum, I’ve embarked on a personal journey to revisit and revise the original story with Mr. Baum whispering in my ear. Along the way, I’ve been weaving in fascinating details from Baum’s life and family—touches I hope will delight devoted Oz fans.
